Wilde Ikebana
This floral series reimagines the Japanese 72 micro seasons within the Western European landscape. Collected from the wilderness around Genk (Limburg, BE) during summer, each wildflower arrangement captures subtle ecological shifts—what the East Asian calendar would mark as fleeting “micro seasons.” While echoing ikebana’s spirit of attentiveness and transience, the works challenge strict definitions by embracing spontaneity and local flora. This is not traditional ikebana, but rather a “wild ikebana”—a poetic ritual as an ode to time, place, and the overlooked rhythms of wilderness around us.
